About the Author, Kathy Adzich

Kathy Adzich has a BA in Business from Western Montana College. She is a first-time author who is deeply passionate about children. Devastated with the enormous loss of three premature newborns, Kathy and her husband were finally granted three beautiful babies carried by an amazing volunteer who became a gestational surrogate. Through her pain and severe heartache, Kathy found the strength and passion to reach out to other families facing similar crises. A desire to establish a philanthropic organization supporting Jakob’s Rooms would evolve, with a focus on a 24-hour hospital stay to ensure that anyone facing the loss of a loved one, young or old, has the time, privacy and resources needed to come to terms with saying good-bye.

Currently at work on her first book, Jakob’s Room…Celebrating a Life Loved, she is developing two websites: Trusting the Journey and The Jakob’s Room Project. Additionally, Kathy sits on the perinatology success panel for Kaiser Medical Center, where her own journey unfolded. Its aim is to give hope to couples facing a multitude of fertility issues. Kathy collaborates on training materials and multi-dimensional support needs, being designed for medical facilities, personnel training and family care provisions, with several national bereavement organizations and hospital administrations. She has attended and sponsored seminars on assisting with brain-injured children and is greatly interested in childhood nutrition.

Her love of writing has manifested itself in eleven years of daily journals to each of her children. She resides with her family in Northern California.
